EQUILISER - Intense stress support.

In such cases Vitamins B1 and B2 and niacin play a role in supporting the nervous system in times of increased stress, along with the "antistress" mineral magnesium. In certain cases, a sufficient supply of L-tryptophan
can also help alleviate the behavioural disturbance.

Vitamin B1 is important for normal nerve tissue and heart muscle function. Especially with high-energy nutritional regimes, the required supply should be ensured by supplementation. A 500 kg horse requires 25-60 mg of vitamin B1 every day, depending on the stress load!

Vitamin B6 plays a key role as a coenzyme in protein metabolism. Vitamin B6 deficiency causes, among other metabolic disturbances, alterations in the central and peripheral nervous system. The recommended administration for horses is between 20 and 50 mg per
day for basic supply, but as in the case of B1, an increased protein and energy content in the feed requires a corresponding adjustment of the vitamin dose.

Niacin (nicotinic acid, nicotamide) plays an important role in the metabolism of each cell. The daily requirement in horses, depending on age and performance level, is between 10 and 25 mg niacin / 100kg of body weight.

Magnesium is known as an important neural factor, and if in sufficient supply, will prevent the release of stress hormones in the body.

L-tryptophan Part of the tryptophane breakdown process results in the production of serotonin. Serotonin acts as a so-called neurotransmitter in the transmission of stimuli at the synapses of the CNS and peripheral nerves. In humans, serotonin controls appetite, sexual and
aggression-related behaviour, mood and sleep-wake rhythms.

Equistro Equiliser can be used on an ad-hoc basis, particularly useful in horses where particular events cause them to show stressed behaviour and nervousness.
