Emeraid Herbivore

A specially formulated high-fiber diet, created by experts in exotic animal care, to meet the nutritional needs of critically ill herbivores. Part of the Emeraid System for Exotic Animal Critical Care, designed for animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and more. This powdered diet can be mixed with water for easy feeding through small tubes. To be used under professional guidance.

Designed for herbivorous mammals including;

  • rabbits
  • guinea pigs
  • chinchillas

Also herbivorous reptiles such as green iguanas and tortoises. It can also be fed in combination with other Emeraid products to a variety of species, including box turtles, geese, mice and rats, gerbils and hamsters

How to use

WARNING: Emeraid has been scientifically designed for extremely high digestibility. Avoid contamination. Handle product carefully. Keep dry. Use a clean, dry scoop. Do not cross contaminate with scoops used with non-Emeraid foods. Contamination can cause harmful bacterial growth.

  • Use the red scoop provided for precise measuring.
  • Mix powder with hot water (122°F or 50°C) in equal parts.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Load the feeding tube right before using to avoid clogs.
  • Feed immediately within 30 minutes of preparation.
  • Keep the feeding tools warm (103-105°F or 39-41°C).
  • Adjust feeding volume based on the animal's species and condition.
  • Use as the sole diet for up to 10 days unless advised otherwise.
  • For poor weight gain or malabsorption, mix with regular diet (25%-30% Emeraid; 70%-75% regular diet).
  • Discard any unused formula and clean the feeding syringe.

Storage and Shelf life

  • Refrigerate after opening.
  • Shelf life is approximately 1 year from the manufacturing date.
  • When frozen, it may be used up to 2 years past the expiration date.
  • Use Emeraid Herbivore within 9 months of opening.

Cellulose, soy protein hydrolyzed, corn syrup solids, rice gel flour, inulin, corn oil, defatted wheat germ, canola oil, sucrose, glutamine, ground limestone, dicalcium phosphate, potassium bicarbonate, iodized salt, DL-methionine (an essential amino acid), magnesium sulfate, choline iodized salt, DL-methionine (an essential amino acid), magnesium sulfate, choline chloride, cysteine (an essential amino acid), vitamin A supplement, vitamin E supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), copper sulfate, manganese oxide, zinc oxide, niacin supplement, calcium dipantothenate, riboflavin supplement, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, vitamin B12 supplement, folic acid, biotin, ascorbic acid, tryptophan (an essential amino acid), manganese sulfate, ethoxyquin (preservative), zinc sulfate, sodium selenite.

Most orders are despatched the same day and standard delivery is 3 to 5 working days from despatch. FAST Expedited options are available at extra cost - these usually arrive in 24-48hrs from dispatch but delays are possible during busy periods.

Postcodes outside of Zone 1 (including some areas within mainland UK) may incur extra carriage charges due to surcharges imposed by the couriers. These will be calculated on the website at the checkout.

NB: Orders placed with faster delivery must be placed before 13:00 to ensure same day dispatch (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Please also check on the product page that the items ordered show 'In Stock' otherwise your order will be delayed until the stock becomes available, which in most cases will only be 24hrs.

Refrigerated items will be sent by carrier or express delivery at a cost of £7.50, with coolpacks, unless you pay for a premium for a refrigerated delivery. We will contact you prior to despatch for your instructions.

*Due to legal requirements medicines may not be returned except to correct an error in despatch or in response to an "official recall". If an item is believed to be faulty it should be returned for inspection and it may be necessary to forward it to the manufacturers for testing before replacements or refunds can be authorised.
