A straw coloured or pale yellow emulsifiable concentrate, containing 5% w/v cypermethrin (cis 50: trans 50).
A residual insecticide for the control of flies and lice on horses.
Deosect Spray must be diluted with water to make a solution just before use. A knapsack or hand sprayer or a sponge may be used to apply the solution. For the best results the solution should be used within 24 hours.
The product can be safely used during pregnancy and lactation
One litre (2 pints) of Deosect Spray concentrate should be diluted with 50 litres (11 gallons) of water. Alternatively, the following table may be used:

20 ml 1 litre
100 ml 5 litres
200 ml 10 litres
A medium fine spray is advisable to avoid fogging of the diluted Deosect Spray. Careful attention must be paid to total animal coverage, especially the face, legs, back and hind quarters. Avoid spraying directly into animals eyes. The following amounts should be used:
Horses – 500 ml of diluted solution per animal.
Ponies – 125 ml of diluted solution per animal.
The application of the solution should commence at the onset of the fly season and be repeated monthly for general fly control and every two weeks for severe head and face fly control.
Apply when lice are observed and repeat as necessary at a minimum of 14 days.
Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Wear protective gloves, face shield and rubber boots and protective clothing when handling the concentrate and diluted solution and when applying the product. A face shield should be worn when handling the concentrate.

This has not been tested on pregnant mares.
Deosect is licensed for use on adult horses and ponies. There is no specific data regarding use on foals - in this case it should only be used on the advice of your veterinary surgeon.
Deosect should be applied to the horse when dry to ensure maximum efficacy.
Application should be repeated monthly for general fly control and every two weeks for severe head and face fly control. This should not be be applied more frequently than every 2 weeks.
No this is not for use in dogs. This is licensed for the use on horses only.
