Fungal infections of the skin are common, and can cause real discomfort. Lamisil AT 1% Spray has been developed to treat the fungal infections described below.

By following the instructions in your own product carefully, you will need to use the medicine for one week only.
Lamisil AT 1% Spray is an antifungal, and works by killing the fungi causing your skin problem: Lamisil AT 1% Spray is used to treat the skin problems caused by fungi in athlete's foot (tinea pedis) and dhobie itch/jock itch (tinea cruris).

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis): Athlete's foot appears only on the feet (usually both, but not always), where it often appears in between the toes. It can also appear on the instep, soles, or other areas of the feet. The most common type of athlete's foot causes cracking or scaling of the skin, but you may also have mild swelling, blisters, or weeping ulcers.

Lamisil AT 1% Spray is recommended for athlete's foot when it occurs between the toes. If you have a fungal nail infection (fungus inside and under the nail) with discoloration of the nails and changes in nail texture (thick or flaky), you should consult your doctor because Lamisil AT 1% Spray is not appropriate for this type of infection.

Dhobie itch (tinea cruris): Dhobie itch appears in the groin and inner thigh area, usually on both sides but often with one side more than the other, where it can be spread further between the legs to the buttocks, or up towards the stomach. Dhobie itch looks like a clearly bordered rash, which may have blisters.

If your are not sure about the cause of your infection, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the spray and they will advise you.

How to use Lamisil AT 1% Spray:

For external use only
For adults 16 years and over:

Clean and dry the area to be treated, and wash your hands
Spray enough of the solution from a distance of 5 to 10 cm to thoroughly wet the affected skin and surrounding areas
Wash your hands after touching the infected skin so that you do not spread the infection on yourself and others
When used between the toes or buttocks, or on the groin, the treated area may be covered with a gauze strip, especially at night. If you do use gauze, use a fresh clean strip each time.

Lamisil AT 1% Spray: should be applied to the affected areas once a day, for one week.

You should not stop using the spray before the recommended time as this may allow the infection to return or reduce the successful cure rate
Lamisil AT 1% Spray should start to improve your skin condition in a few days, although full skin healing after the infection has cleared will take longer, up to 4 weeks, be-cause of damage caused during infection
If you forget an application, apply it as soon as possible and then carry on as normal. If you only remember at the time of the next application, just apply that application and then carry on as normal
It is important to try to use the spray at the correct times as missing applications could risk the infection returning.
You should not continue using the spray after the one-week treatment period. Even though you will not be using the spray during the second week, improvement should continue.
If you have not noticed any signs of improvement within 2 weeks of first starting treatment, please see your doctor or pharmacist who will advise you.
If Lamisil AT 1% Spray is accidentally swallowed, please tell your doctor who will advise you, or go to your nearest Casualty Department.

ContentsLamisil AT 1% Spray is a spray solution containing: 1.0% by weight of the active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride. It is a cutaneous spray, i.e. it is sprayed onto the skin.
Lamisil AT 1% Spray solution also contains: purified water, ethanol (23.5%), propylene glycol and cetomacrogol 1000.

Do not use Lamisil AT 1% Spray: if you suspect that you have had an allergic reaction to, or have been upset by any of the ingredients in this medicine.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if the above applies because Lamisil AT 1% Spray is not suitable for you in these circumstances.
Take special care with Lamisil AT 1% Spray:

Avoid contact of the spray solution with your face and eyes. If the spray accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse eyes thoroughly with running water and consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
Avoid application to damaged skin where alcohol could cause stinging or irritation
If spray is accidentally inhaled, consult your doctor if any symptoms occur or persist.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant ask your doctor before using this medicine
Do not use if you are breast-feeding
Lamisil AT 1% Spray is not recommended for children under 16 years of age
Do not apply other medicinal products on the treated areas
All medicines can cause problems in some people, and it is important to note the following:

Lamisil AT 1% Spray can occasionally cause redness, stinging or itching after use. These effects are harmless and usually you can continue with the treatment
In rare instances people may be allergic to Lamisil AT 1% Spray which could cause swelling and pain, blistering, skin rash, hives or a worsening of itch. If you experience any of these particular symptoms, stop using the spray and tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
If you notice any unusual effects after using the spray, it is important that you tell your doctor or pharmacist.

To help with treatment: Treatment can be helped by keeping the affected area clean by regular washing, and careful drying without rubbing. Scratching the area, although it may be itchy, could cause further damage and slow the healing process or spread the infection.

Because these infections can be passed on to other people, it is helpful to keep your own towel and clothes, which are not shared by others. To protect yourself from re-infection, these should be washed frequently.
