WARNINGS
Read the enclosed leaflet before use. If you believe you may be pregnant, or are taking a prescribed medicine, consult your doctor before taking Pripsen. Prolonged use of this product should be avoided. Do not take Pripsen if you have kidney disease or liver disease or have ever suffered from epilepsy, or if you are allergic to piperazine
INDICATIONS
Pripsen Sachets are used to eliminate threadworms and roundworms from the bowel. Pripsen is a raspberry-flavoured powder enclosed in a sachet, sweetened with saccharin and is sugar free
DIRECTIONS
Pripsen should be stirred into a small glass of milk or water and drunk immediately. Adults should take the dose at bedtime and children in the morning. Any unused powder should be discarded. Dosage: For children under 10 years of age, only one dual dose treatment should be given in any 28 day period without seeking medical advice. When Treating Threadworm and roundworm: Adults and children over 6: One sachet. Children aged 1 -6 years: One level 5ml spoonful of sachet's contents. Infants 3 months to 1 year: As prescribed by your doctor. The follow-up dose for threadworm should be given 14 days after the first dose to eliminate reinfestation. Additional single doses for roundworm may be necessary each month for up to three months to eliminate the risk of recurrence.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects from Pripsen are uncommon but if they occur the most likely is rash, itching or sometimes wheezing or mild gastrointestinal upsets such as nausea, vomiting, stomach ache or diarrhoea. On a few rare occasions dizziness, weakness and aching muscles have occurred. If any develop tell your doctor straight away.

Indicated for the eradication of Enterobiasis (Pinworm, Threadworm) and Ascariasis (Roundworm).

Route of administration:
Oral
Pripsen powder should be stirred into a small glass of milk or water and drunk immediately. It should be taken at bedtime by adults and in the morning by children.
There is no indication that dosage need be modified for the elderly.
For children under 10 years, only one dual dose treatment should be given in any 28 day period without seeking medical advice.
When treating Threadworm:
Adults and children over 6 years: One sachet.
Children aged 1-6 years: Two-thirds sachet (One level 5mlspoonful)
Infants 3 months to 1 year: One-third sachet (One level 2.5ml spoonful)
The dose should be repeated after 14 days
When treating Roundworm:
Adults and children over 6 years: One sachet.
Children aged 1-6 years: Two-thirds sachet (One level 5ml spoonful)
Infants 3 months to 1 year: One-third sachet (One level 2.5ml spoonful)
Additional single prophylactic doses at regular monthly intervals up to three months may be necessary to eliminate the risk of re-infestation.

Pripsen is contra-indicated in patients suffering from epilepsy, severe bilateral renal dysfunction, hepatic dysfunction, known sensitivity to Piperazine, undiagnosed painful abdominal symptoms which may be due to acute appendicitis, and/or other acute surgical conditions, such as intestinal obstruction or acute inflammatory bowel disease, the ileus, and in severe dehydration states with water and electrolyte depletion.
