Presentation
Nuflor is a light golden sterile non-aqueous solution for injection, containing 300 mg/ml florfenicol.
Uses
Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum synthetic antibiotic effective against most Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria isolated from domestic animals.
In cattle, Nuflor is indicated in diseases caused by florfenicol susceptible bacteria. Nuflor is indicated for the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections due to Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus sommi. The presence of the disease in the herd should be established before preventive treatment.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Not to be used in adult bulls intended for breeding purposes. Not for use in cattle producing milk for human consumption. The effect of florfenicol on bovine reproductive performance has not been assessed.
A decrease in food consumption and transient softening of the faeces may occur during the treatment period. The treated animals recover quickly and completely upon termination of treatment.
Administration of NUFLOR by the intramuscular and subcutaneous routes may cause inflammatory lesions at injection site which persist for 14 days.
Care should be taken to avoid accidental self-injection.
For animal treatment only.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Further information
Florfenicol acts by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosomal level and is bacteriostatic. Laboratory tests have shown that florfenicol is active against the most commonly isolated bacterial pathogens involved in bovine respiratory disease which include Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus sommi and Arcanobacterium pyogenes. The product should be used in conjunction with susceptibility testing and take into account official and local antimicrobial policies.
