Exodus Horse Wormer paste |
|
Exodus horse wormer contains Pyrantel, a wormer effective against adult large and small redworms, ascarids, pinworms and at a double dose some horse tapeworms. It does not kill horse worm eggs, larvae, lungworms or bots.
Horse tapeworms are carried by forage mites and can result in horses suffering from colic. The
dose of Pyratape horse wormer to control them is TWICE that needed for other worms, ie two syringes for an
average horse (there is not an alternative formulation of granules). Dosage for tapeworms is best given twice a year towards the beginning and end of the grazing season and the Autumn.
Worming with Panacur Equine Guard for fullest
possible removal of horse worm parasites. The
normal (not tapeworm) dose needs
to be repeated every 4 - 6 weeks as part of your horse worming programme One tube will worm a 600kg horse, but two are needed for tapeworm.

Dosage and administration
One syringe per 600 kg bodyweight as a single oral dose (which is equivalent to one syringe mark per 100 kg bodyweight).
Increased dosing for treatment of Tapeworm infections:
Double the routine dose rate and administer on a single occasion, i.e. two syringes per 600 kg bodyweight as a single oral dose (which is equivalent to two syringe marks per 100 kg bodyweight).
Assess bodyweight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. The use of a ‘weigh band’ is recommended. Administer the paste by squeezing from the syringe onto the back of the horse’s tongue. Raising the horses head sometimes assists in the swallowing process.
