BENYLIN® Children’s Dry Coughs suppresses the urge to cough.
With a dry cough there is no phlegm to clear from the chest, it can often feel frustrating and painful.
BENYLIN® Children’s Dry Coughs contains pholcodine, a cough suppressant, which helps to calm unproductive or dry cough, and provides soothing relief.
A dry cough is known as a non-productive cough because it does not produce any phlegm.
Dry coughs are due to inflammation of the upper airways caused by dust, foreign bodies or an infection.
5ml of cough medicine contains 2mg Pholcodine.

How to take Benylin Children's Dry Coughs:
For oral use only.
Children 6-12 years: Two or three 5 ml spoonfuls 3 times a day.
Not recommended for children under 6 years of age

Warnings relating to Benylin Children's Dry Coughs:
Do not give your child this medicine if:
They have suffered with a bad reaction to this product, or any of the listed ingredients.
They have a persistent cough such as occurs with asthma or produces a lot of mucus.
They suffer from prostate problems (difficulty in passing water or needing to pass water often.)
They are taking any other cough or cold medicine.
They have narrow eye glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
They are taking drugs for depression known as MAOI’s.
Not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Do not take with products containing paracetamol.
Side effects of Benylin Children's Dry Coughs:
This medicine can have side effects, like all medicines, although these do not affect everyone and are usually mild. If you experience any of the following, stop using the medicine and seek immediate help:
Swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
Allergic reactions including skin rashes (which may be severe and include blistering or peeling of the skin and itching)
Irregular heart rate.
Shakiness.
Fits or numbness.
Difficulty passing water
