Avomine Tablets can provide up to 24 hours relief in one dose and is generally well tolerated and can be used by children from 5 years. It can also be used in the treatment and prevention of:
Nausea and vomiting due to other causes, including gastro-enteritis
Vestibular disturbance
Drug intolerance
Migraine
Infectious diseases
Radiotherapy
Avomine contains the active ingredient Promethazine. Promethazine is an antihistamine agent. It blocks histamine receptors in the stomach to prevent nausea and vomiting due to a number of causes. It also has sedative and other effects that may contribute to its anti-nausea effect.
How to take Avomine Tablets:
Adults and children aged over 10 years: Take one tablet.
Children aged 5-10 years: Give half tablet.
Children aged 2-4 years: Give quarter tablet.
This product should not be used in children under 2yrs of age because safety of such use has not been established. For the relief of travel sickness the above dosage should be taken promptly and repeated nightly if required.
For long journeys: Take tablet at bedtime on the night before you travel.
Short journeys: Take tablet one or two hours before travel
This product should not be used in children under 2 years of age because safety of such use has not been established.
This medication may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery.
Avoid alcohol.
