The pharmacy was founded in 1828 and relocated to its present larger premises in 2000.
Often known by our customers as Hyperdrug Online Pharmacy or Hyperdrug Veterinary Supplies, we have a number of trademarks: we are the Equine Pharmacy, Pigeon Pharmacy and Canine Chemists Direct.

What do we do?
We are an online chemist direct to you and a Retail Pharmacy, trading for over 180 years and online since April 1997. For health and beauty essentials for yourself and family or for pets and farm animals including pigeons, dogs, cats, cows, sheep, horses.......
In fact you name it, we supply it, keeping up to 30,000 medicines including products for virtually any animal.
A price list for veterinary Prescription Only items (POM-V) is displayed on this site but they cannot be purchased online, as we require the receipt of the original prescription.
We dispense both veterinary and private “human” prescriptions (ie currently not those issued by the NHS)

Our pharmacists hold post-graduate qualifications in human and veterinary pharmacy respectively.
Our highly qualified staff also includes a microbiologist , seven qualified Animal Health Advisors holding AMTRA registration
and the services of both veterinary and pharmaceutical industry consultants
How do I place an order?
You can place your order on this site: or if you wish place an order by mail, email, phone or fax (go to contact us for relevant information). Callers at our premises are always welcome during business hours 9AM to 5.30PM Monday to Friday and Saturdays 9AM to 4PM.
If you are travelling a long distance please telephone first to reserve the articles required rather than risk disappointment.
