Dosage and administration
Administer orally. The recommended dose rate is 10 mg amoxicillin/kg twice daily for 5 consecutive days. Double this dosage can be given up to three times daily at the discretion of the veterinarian, for five consecutive days.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins. As with other penicillins, amoxicillin should not be used orally or parenterally in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils. Caution is advised when used in any other very small herbivore. Hypersensitivity reactions are rare. Some animals may have soft faeces.
Operator warning
Penicillins and cephalosporins may cause hypersensitivity (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or skin contact. Hypersensitivity to penicillins may lead to cross-reactions to cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.
1. Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitive or if you have been advised not to work with such preparations.
2. Handle this product with great care to avoid exposure, taking all recommended precautions.
3. If you develop symptoms following exposure such as skin rash, you should seek medical advice and show the doctor this warning. Swelling of the face, lips, or eyes, or difficulty with breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.

Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic antimicrobial belonging to the group of betalactamins (aminopenicillins), a broad spectrum penicillin which is bactericidal in a wide range of Gram negative and Gram positive organisms. Amoxicillin has been shown in vitro to be active against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Haemophilus spp. and Pasteurella spp.
